Beneil Dariush sees Chance to get UFC Fight Title shot before Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor Winner

Could Beneil Dariush be the first contender to recently crowned UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira? He’s not counting on it, however he believes it’s likely.

Dariush (21-4-1 MMA, 15-4-1 UFC) stretched his winning streak to seven fights this past Saturday when he beat Tony Ferguson via unanimous decision at UFC 262 in Houston. He’s been on a huge rise in recent years and is now one of the top-ranked rivals at 155 pounds, as Oliveira (31-8 MMA, 19-8 UFC) starts the post-Khabib Nurmagomedov period with the win.

While UFC president Dana White has not agreed to a particular scenario for Oliveira’s first defense, many consider the winner of the Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor trilogy battle on July 10 at UFC 264 to be the strong front-runner for a title shot. Dariush doesn’t think that’s unfair, but that also doesn’t imply that’s sure to happen.

Negotiations have traditionally become more difficult to finalize as Poirier – and particularly McGregor – are among the most prominent names in the sport. Talks will go wrong at any time. Dariush says he’ll be able to jump in if anything happens.

“I think I (have) a real case for the title,” Dariush told MMA Junkie on Tuesday. “In terms of company, that’s the battle that will earn the title shot. But here’s the thing: I’m the only guy in that division with an actual streak. That’s one thing. Right now, I have the longest run in the top three. Another issue is that these men don’t have their contracts worked out in a hurry. These guys will fight – I’ve seen contracts fall apart with Dustin and Conor. Things haven’t worked out for them. So I’m sitting here, preparing to go.”

Dariush’s scenario has a big timing snag on his end. He claimed both before and after his victory over Ferguson that, owing to the impending birth of his first child in the coming weeks, he has no plans to compete again until the end of 2021.

He doesn’t anticipate Oliveira to hurry into another battle, but Dariush believes the timing might still work in his favor.

“All you have to do is offer me a fight at the end of November or December,” Dariush said. “That’s what I’m doing. It’s not too far off. I’m sure Charles would want and take a break to celebrate in Brazil and do his stuff. So, I’m here.”

Dariush is keen to get his hands on Oliveira if the chance arises. The match was supposed to take place in October, but Oliveira backed out due to injury. His journey after has taken him to UFC gold, while Dariush’s has positioned him as a top contender in the category. Dariush has no ill will against Oliveira, but he would like the chance to actually share the cage and decide who is the stronger boxer.

Dariush said of confronting Oliveira, “I’ve already talked about it.” “I’m not sure if you recall, but I’ve already been paired with this man a few times. I’ve talked of how I’d battle him and how I’d pursue him, and I think it’ll be a lot of fun. I hope people will like it.”

Conor McGregor v Dustin Poirier: Notorious Fires UFC 264 Fight Warning at The Diamond

Conor McGregor has promised to avenge his loss to Dustin Poirier in a rematch at UFC 264 in Las Vegas on Saturday.

McGregor and Poirier were originally scheduled for a high-stakes shootout this summer, but an agreement seemed to be on the verge of falling apart when UFC president Dana White announced the trilogy battle is now set for July 10.

‘The Notorious’ is the longtime UFC lightweight champion, a title previously owned by the recently retired Khabib Nurmagomedov, and is ready to stake his name by facing Poirier in just his fourth 155-pound fight.

McGregor (22-5), 32, ended Poirier, also 32, with punches in the first round of their featherweight battle at UFC 178, before falling in a shocking shock at UFC 257 nearly seven years later.

The Irishman may be considered a marginal underdog by some bookmakers going into this contest, but he has alerted the former UFC interim lightweight champion in a social media message that he is out for vengeance.

‘I would do this totally flawlessly on July 10th,’ McGregor posted on Twitter. ‘We’ve got these clowns all figured out!’

‘Do they like to play a strategy game?’ ‘No worries, I’ll see you in there.’

‘You’ve unleashed a beast. A beast with the help of a much greater force!

‘Pray for me.’

Poirier, who boosted his record to 27-6 (1 NC) by knocking out McGregor in the second round in January, replied by tweeting, ‘Let hard work be thy medicine.’

The rivalry between McGregor and Poirier is heating up nicely ahead of their much-anticipated battle.

Poirier is currently enrolled in a training camp at American Top Team, where he is practicing for the impending fight.

Meanwhile, McGregor has been training at the UFC Gym in Abu Dhabi.

As he prepares for his UFC return, he seems to be in fantastic form.

Yana Kunitskaya faces Mexican Irene Aldana Fight no UFC 264

On July 10th, at the 264th edition of Ultimate in Las Vegas, a crucial showdown for the future of the UFC‘s bantamweight (61 kg) division will take place (USA). Irene Aldana and Yana Kunitskaya, currently ranked fourth and fifth in the group, will clash in the world’s most renowned octagon, with a view toward a championship fight.

ESPN first announced the news, which was later reported by both athletes on their social media accounts. UFC 264 will be headlined by the third installment of the series between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier, in a battle that may determine the next lightweight title challenger (70 kg).

Mexican Irene Aldana enters the match looking to reclaim her two-game winning streak, which was broken by Holly Holm in October 2020. In contrast, Yana Kunitskaya – Brazilian light heavyweight (93 kg) fiancée Thiago ‘Sledgehammer ‘- is in fine form in the company, having taken four of his last five fights.

The winner of the match between Aldana and Kunitskaya would be able to take the final move towards the ‘title shot’ of the Ultimate 61 kg category. The title of the division is currently held by Brazilian Amanda Nunes, who will defend it against challenger Julianna Pena on August 7 at UFC 265.

Conor McGregor Lacking ‘Hunger’ and Looking ‘Hollow’ ahead of UFC 264 Trilogy with Dustin Poirier says Lightweight Rival

CONOR McGREGOR is without the ‘hunger’ that sent him to the top of the world’s boxer rankings.

Beneil Dariush of the UFC weighs in.

Since his masterclass over Eddie Alvarez in November 2016, McGregor has only battled three times in the octagon.

McGregor’s ability to participate in mixed martial arts has been called into doubt after his multi-million pound boxing match with Floyd Mayweather, but the Irishman maintains he has recommitted to the event.

But Dariush, who is due to face Tony Ferguson at UFC 262 next month, is skeptical of The Notorious, telling ESPN: “It’s just hunger, guy.”

“It’s something I still bring up. As an athlete, I am blessed with God-given skills.

“As a result, I want to multiply those abilities and return them to God.” And the well is never empty. The well is still stocked with something.

“It seemed to him that the priority was to make profits first.” Yeah, you did that, but the well is empty.”

McGregor, 32, was a long cry from the guy who soared to international fame by terrorizing his rivals in the build-up to his UFC 257 loss to Dustin Poirier in January.

Dariush, like many others, was taken aback by McGregor’s demeanor and thinks the Dubliner “doesn’t realize what he needs’ to be at this point of his career.”

“This last war, he seems like a huge family guy and all that,” he said. You, on the other hand, have done so.

“You take care of your relatives.” It is visible to everyone. You are a wonderful father. You are a wonderful husband.

“The well is almost empty.” I’m not sure what you’re asking. He has become the victor.

“The well was depleted.” I’m not sure what piques his interest.

Conor McGregor, according to Beneil Dariush, is not the same individual he was a few years before.

“When you can’t see a man’s motivation, he becomes empty.”

“I believe I’m seeing it in Conor right now.”

“He is empty because he is unsure about what he wants.”

McGregor is preparing for a trilogy battle with Poirier, who knocked him out in the second round of their rematch earlier this year.

Poirier vs. McGregor 3 will be the main attraction of UFC 264, which will be held in front of a sold-out audience at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

And Mystic Mac has promised to put on a performance for the 20,000 people that will be there.

“I signed my bout agreement this morning,” Ireland’s first UFC champion said after the series decider was officially announced.

“On July 10, I’m going to tear a new a**hole in the game.”

“Mac has returned to Sin City!” “The place is packed!”
